About this repository

How This organisation publishes records here, what the addresses mean, and how to ask for something that is not published.

What this is

This is a repository of records that This organisation has published proactively, under section 5 of the Access to Information Act, 2016. Section 5(3)(c) requires publication on the internet where the entity holds the material electronically.

It is not a catalogue of everything the entity holds. Material appears here only after a decision to publish it, and the absence of a document is not evidence that it does not exist.

Addresses and citations

Every published item has a permanent address of the form /r/ followed by a twelve-character identifier. That address never changes, and it is never reused for different content.

The identifier encodes nothing — not a file number, not a department, not a position in any filing scheme — so nothing it encodes can go out of date. The last character is a check character: mistyping a single character of a citation gives you a “not found” page rather than somebody else's document.

A specific version of a record can be cited by adding /v2, and superseded versions stay citable after they are replaced.

Withdrawn records

When a record is withdrawn from publication, its address keeps working. It resolves to a notice stating that something was published there, that it has been withdrawn, when, on whose authority, and — where it is lawful to say so — why.

A published address will never simply stop working or turn into a generic error. If one does, that is a fault and the contact below wants to hear about it.

Withdrawing a record from this repository does not delete or alter the underlying record, which the entity continues to hold and to manage under its retention and disposal schedule.

Asking for something that is not here

This repository does not accept submissions, comments, uploads or requests. There is deliberately no form on any page: the published store is separated from the entity's records system, and nothing typed here could reach it.

To request information that is not published, write to the office below. That is the entity's access-to-information request route, and it is a different process from this repository.

Reuse

Each record states its own licence, and any third-party material inside it is listed separately — the entity cannot license material it does not own, so those terms are never merged into the record's licence.

Machine-readable access to the catalogue is available over OAI-PMH at /api/portal/oai, and the identifier scheme is stated at /api/portal/identifier-scheme.

Accessibility

These pages are built to be usable without JavaScript, on a slow connection, and with a keyboard or screen reader alone. Every filter is an ordinary link and the only form is the search box.

Some published files are scans without a text layer. A scanned image cannot be read by a screen reader, so where a record has one it says so on the record page. Ask the contact above for an accessible version of any document.

No independent accessibility audit of this repository has been published. That is stated rather than implied: an untested claim of conformance would be worth less than this sentence.
